Fantasia's Talks About "Back To Me" And Suicide Attempt On GMA

I'm sure you already know that I've gone out and purchased my "Back To Me" CD this morning and I hope you did too.  Fantasia's third album dropped today and she visited "Good Morning America" to promote it, of course she had to speak about her recent ordeal while there.  Check out the video below.


I feel so bad for this baby, she's obviously still hurting.  I know many people have been speculating that this was a publicity stunt, but not me.  I really think that it just all got to be a little too much for her.  Not saying that was a reason for her to try and take her life, but I'm not here to judge and nobody knows what makes another person finally break.  She's looking good (other than those long pieces hanging from the side) and she seems to be doing a little better. 

So, needless to say, I'm digging the album!  Two songs in particular are on repeat at the moment, "Even Angels" and "Collard Greens & Cornbread" (love that old school track). 


Keep Fantasia in your prayers and make sure to check her out on Behind The Music tonight on Vh1.  I also saw on Twitter that she's supposed to stop by 106&Park today so tune in to that also.

Fantasia Speaks On Attempted Overdose

As I reported last week, Fantasia has been on a promotional tour for her new album that will be released this Tuesday.  She spoke first with the people over at VH1 for an episode of "Behind The Music" which will air tomorrow.  Check out what she had to say about her attempt to end her life.

"I didn’t have any fight in me. I didn’t care about anything. I just wanted out. At that moment, I wanted out. I wanted it to be over with – all of it, all of that [expletive]. I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You can’t accidentally take a whole bottle of pills.”

Hmm... I totally understand that feeling of just wanting out.  But personally, I just take a nap then wake up and try it again LOL.   Everyone wants to say that this came about because of a man, I think this situation was just the "straw that broke the camel's back."  Check out what she said about her relationship with Antwuan.

“When I met him, he was separated … wasn’t living in his home. He didn’t want to be back with his wife – that is what I was told,” Barrino says. “I remember waking up in the hospital [and thinking], ‘It didn’t work, I’m still here in this hellhole. Still here with all this drama going on."
My nurse Melanie was a blessing into my life because she didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear,” she says. “She told me what I needed to hear. And she looked at me and said, ‘You gotta get up, and you’ve gotta get out of here, ’cause you haven’t fulfilled your destiny.”                          "I realized how people end up in the grave. Because that one moment [snaps her fingers] of just breaking or feeling like I can’t, I can’t go on, it’s too heavy. That was somewhere I don’t ever want to go again.”

One thing about it, we don't know what the hell was going on with their situation.  Antwuan released a statement saying that he and his wife were done prior to him starting a relationship with Fantasia.  I just hope everything works out for her because she's been through so much, she needs a break from all the BS.

Fantasia's "Back To Me" Album Cover

Anybody that knows me knows that I LOVE Fantasia Barrino. Since the day I saw her perform "Lets Give Them Something To Talk About" on American Idol, I've been a fan! I would watch the show faithfully every week with my mom and sister, we ALL love her just that much. During her time on Idol I would make sure to vote for her 100 times every week. The night of the finale I put in 200 votes, that's just how much we supported her. Anywho, the point of me telling you all of that is so you could understand how excited I am for Fantasia's third album due out July 27th.


This is the album cover for Fantasia's "Back To Me" album, its HOT!!! I'm so ready to hear what the album is going to sound like. We got to hear a little of what we can expect on her reality show "Fantasia For Real". I heard a couple of snippets that I was digging, especially that Even Angels track. Update: My sister just informed me that Tasia got her album title from Mr. Steve Harvey. She was on his radio show when he suggested that she title the album "Back To Me" and obviously she liked it. If the album lives up to its title we can be ready for some great music.
