With the FIBA World Championships currently running in Turkey, let's take a look at the performance of some of the international NBA players who are playing well.
Luis Scola - PF Rockets
Stats: 28.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 59.4% shooting
Scola is one of the top performers in the tournament thus far. Scola had a great year last season and this should be a sign of things to expect from him in 2010-11.
Yi Jianlian - SF/PF Wizards
Stats: 22.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, 54.2% shooting
Yi has been playing very well through 4 games. These totals aren't really a surprise as Yi has shown the ability to score 20+ points and grab 10+ rebounds in a game, it's just that he lacks consistency and he's been injury prone. If Yi can keep playing well through training camp, he could earn himself a starting role in Washington.
Linas Kleiza - SF Raptors
Stats: 19.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 59.5% shooting, 38.9% 3-point shooting
Kleiza is putting up numbers he could likely put up next season on a rebuilding Raptors team. We know Kleiza can score, but it will be interesting to see whether he can keep the rebounds up in the realm of 7 per game.
Marc Gasol - C Grizzlies
Stats: 18.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 64.3% shooting
With brother Pau sitting out the World Championships, Gasol has been able to shine. His scoring and shooting are great, but the rebounds are a bit low. Still, the rebounding isn't something to worry about. Gasol should have another productive season for Memphis.
Tiago Splitter - PF/C Spurs
Stats: 15.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 57.8% shooting
Splitter is giving us a taste of what we can expect next season as his numbers are in line with his career production in Europe. He's a great scorer with a full arsenal of offensive moves. His rebounding numbers will hover around 5 a game and he's not going to be a defensive stopper. He's a player we like toward the end of standard league drafts as he has a strong chance of starting next season alongside Tim Duncan.
